Funded by Swedish Energy Agency
Type Research project
Time period 2015-09-01 - 2016-05-31

Full project title: National strategy for development of energy production related environmental data for sustainable innovation – A national research and innovation agenda.

Background

Environmentally sound energy production and use are central components in a sustainable society. Sweden is by international comparison at the forefront in this aspect. Many resources are spent in Sweden to generate and collect energy data in different ways and by different agents. Much could be gained by coordinating data management in order to provide open LCA-data that can be used by authorities, companies, and researchers to consistently and efficiently analyze environmental performance. This would also enable Sweden to play a more active role and influence international developments.

Aim & objectives

The overall aim of the project is to deliver a national agenda containing a strategy with a clear goal and a common vision for how Sweden will provide updated and open energy related benchmark data, relevant for Swedish conditions.

Outcomes

The project generated a national agenda containing a strategy with a clear goal and a common vision for how Sweden will provide updated and open energy related benchmark data, relevant for Swedish conditions.

The results were also presented at the LCM 2017 conference through a poster.
