Scania is joining Swedish Life Cycle Center as a new partner
Scania is a global provider of transport solutions, including trucks and buses for heavy transport applications combined with an extensive product-related service offering. Scania offers vehicle financing, insurance and rental services to enable our customers to focus on their core business. Scania is also a leading provider of industrial and marine engines.
Scania believes the key to success lies in taking a holistic perspective to optimize the flows in entire value chains with the increased value for the customer in mind. Scania’s aim is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment.
How do you work with the life cycle perspective today?
Scania utilizes LCA in concept and product development to better understand the possibilities in decarbonisation of operations, products and provide input to designers.
The LCA focus is on long haulage with a wide range of powertrains. The aim is to cover all applications including distribution, engines and buses as well as different autonomous concepts.
How do you expect to benefit from becoming a partner in Swedish Life Cycle Center?
From Scania’s perspective, being a partner in the center gives us the chance to work with the industry and academic partners on large scale projects. The center provides deeper insight in LCA methodology and modeling which contributes to future industry projects with highest potential of environmental reductions.
Welcome Scania to Swedish Life Cycle Center and welcome Erik Nellström, Senior Engineer Research & Development, to be part of the Board.
