7th Social LCA conference:
Impacts, Interests, Interactions
Welcome to The 7th international conference on Social Life Cycle Assessment that this year will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, June 14-17, 2020 hosted in collaboration with the Swedish Life Cycle Center. The conference are taking place the week before mid-summer, a time when many consider Sweden to be at it´s finest with long days and white nights. The conference is co-arranged by KTH – Royal Institute of Technology and Chalmers University of Technology. It will be held on the campus of Chalmers, Johanneberg.
Update: Due to governmental and university guidelines regarding COVID-19 (Corona-virus) we have decided to proceed with SLCA2020 as planned, but is some other form. Owing to all uncertainties, we now plan for an online event, with the option to also hold a physical event for those who may travel and if the situation clears. A decision to hold such a physical event will be taken later. Our decision have consequences for many things, among else, the registration fees and the format for presentations.
We are fully aware that an online event will not provide the same opportunities as a physical event, but we will do our utmost to find engaging ways so that people will get useful feedback on their presentations, take part in interesting conversations, and experience a valuable and memorable event. If we get this to work well, we will have made some important learnings on more climate-neutral conferencing for the future!
Theme: Impacts – Interests – Interactions
With this year’s theme we want to acknowledge that social life cycle studies have diverse methods, are conducted in different contexts and with different effects. While there are social impacts related to decisions, also the social organisation of the life cycle matters for sustainability change. The conference offers an occasion to examine SLCA from methodological as well as social and practical perspectives.
Welcome !
