Circularity is gaining importance, there’s a promising synergy between circular innovation and systematic impact assessment methods. By integrating circular thinking with life cycle assessment, we can better understand and reduce environmental, economic, and social impacts, particularly through iterative innovation and testing.
Overall aim of Working group
Finding research and knowledge gaps in LCA in circularity field, finding possibilities of start pilots or projects. Foster knowledge exchange among organizations, facilitating the dissemination of insights and facilitating contributions to the development of guidelines, standards, and policies.

Outcomes
The group started of in 2024 with presentations with focus on ongoing work and research from group members and other invited guest. During 2025 the group first had a reading circle on ISO 59020 and a follow up meeting to discuss potential implementation of the standard. Meetings during autumn 2025 focused on case studies and applications of circular economy standards and connections between LCA and circular economy.
