We are pleased to welcome Frida Røyne as project manager at Swedish Life Cycle Center! We asked three short questions to learn more about Frida’s previous experience and her perspective on starting this position.

What is your background?

I have an environmental scientist background with an industrial ecology master’s degree and a PhD in LCA. Since 2010 I have worked with environmental issues in research, industry, a governmental agency and an NGO, in Sweden, Norway and Germany.

What are your expectations on your new role as a project manager?

Now that I’m back in Gothenburg and have joined Swedish Life Cycle Center I am looking forward to getting to know the large network of the center. I expect to learn a lot and I am excited to enter the role as a project manager and contribute in new ways to the development of a method that has been my companion for many years.

Which three environmental challenges, in your experience, are the most crucial?

Overconsumption of resources and energy have led to immense environmental challenges, which are all interconnected, such as global warming, biodiversity loss, and pollution. From my experience, the most crucial thing is to bring the understanding of interconnection into action and transition to a different form of society. The life cycle perspective can help us navigate in the complexity so that we manage to create holistic and robust strategies.
