Welcome to Life Cycle Talks! A series of talks presenting the research front to keep you up to date with the science and application of the life cycle perspective. Our next guest is Anna Furberg, Researcher at the Department of Sustainable development, environmental science and engineering (SEED), KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Faculty member of KTH Digital Futures. Anna will talk about challenges for assessments on environmental impacts of digital technologies and provide recommendations in support for decision-making towards more sustainable digital futures.

Presenter

Anna Furberg’s current research focuses on the contribution of knowledge on environmental impacts of digitalization in support for decision-making towards reduced impacts. For this, she applies LCA and life cycle thinking. In 2022, she was awarded with the SETAC Europe Young Scientist Life Cycle Assessment Award, which recognizes exceptional achievements by a young scientist in the field of LCA. In her presentation, she will focus on challenges in assessments of environmental impacts of digitalization, provide recommendations for assessments of the global information and communication technology sector’s climate impact and address environmental impacts of fast-growing AI.
